Writing

Voice

Our voice stays consistent across everything we write, but our tone changes depending on the audience we’re talking to. We customize how we talk to each audience, so they feel we know and appreciate them.

Tone Qualities

Child Bridge caters to three distinct audiences: foster families, donors and the general public. Though our voice remains bold and invigorating, our tone shifts to help us relate and engage with each individual audience.

Bolstering & Empathetic

We understand you. We’re here to support and help move you forward.

Inclusive & Grateful

You are now one of us, part of a bigger mission. Thank you for joining!

Motivating & Inviting

There is a crisis. Here is your opportunity to make a real difference.

Foster Parents

Foster parents are our primary audience and one we speak to with a bolstering and empathetic tone depending on the situation. We speak to them out of understanding for what they’re going through. Sometimes that requires humor and sometimes that requires deep empathy.

  • Give yourself grace!
  • Keep trying to do better.
  • You’re not you when you’re hungry. And neither is your child!
  • Your child will struggle to self-regulate when they’re hungry just like you do.
  • These behaviors can be frustrating. It’s okay to make mistakes!
  • Parenting isn’t for everyone. It takes patience, dedication and perseverance.

Donors

Donors keep our mission running. We are so thankful for them and their generosity and speak to them with an inclusive and grateful tone. We regularly use language per the science of fundraising to let them know what they’ve done. Sometimes that’s more traditional for an older demographic, and sometimes that’s for the young new monthly donor.

  • You’re connecting hurting children with their forever families.
  • Child Bridge is making a difference thanks to our donors.
  • You’ve joined a force of faithful allies.
  • You are one of several donors who see the importance of this mission.
  • We can’t thank you enough for joining the fight.
  • Thanks for donating.

General Public

Every person is a potential foster parent or donor and we’re excited about that. We use a rallying tone to get them to act, and an inclusive tone when they’ve done something because we want them to feel like they are part of something larger.

  • Choose to see the unseen children in Montana.
  • You can help by admitting there is a problem.
  • Learn how you can change a child’s life by fostering.
  • It might be time to consider fostering.
  • God is using people like you to heal His children.
  • God wants you to foster.
